FOTD: Naked 3 Palette

I wanted to do a quick post of the look that I did on Thursday.  While watching some videos on YouTube, I came across a tag called Getting the Most Use of Your Palettes.  I have been pretty much switching up the palettes that I use weekly, so I thought it was a great idea.

Anyhow, I snapped a few pictures after work, so I had my makeup on all day.

Sorry this picture is so blurry.

Random Items Haul

I did quite a lot of shopping this past week. I purchased two items from Sephora.com, three items from Bed Bath & Beyond and an extra dimension eyeshadow from The Company Store.

I purchased the Amazonian Clay blush and bronzer set from the Tarte holiday collection. I missed out on the blushes last year and I didn't want to make the same mistake again this year. I also purchased the Sephora + Pantone Universe Emerald liquid eyeliner, which was on clearance.

I have a Company Store in the building that I work in (a good and bad thing), and they finally got some new things in. I picked up the extra dimension eyeshadow in Smoky Mauve.

Last night I ran into Bed Bath & Beyond after reading quite a few blogs stating that the new matte color tattoos were there. Well the store did have the display, but all the color tattoos were gone 😪.  There are only two of each color in the displays. Hopefully they will start to show up in the drugstores soon. I picked up a  limited edition Color Sensational lipstick in Pink Grandeur. Maybelline The Elixir Color Sensational in Raspberry Rhapsody and Loreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara in Blackest Black.

Pictures down below, I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.

Crave, Dazzled, Darling, Dollface & Park Avenue Princess  ($42.00)

MAC Extra Dimension Eyeshadow Smoky Mauve

Pink Grandeur & Raspberry Rhapsody ($5.79 & $6.79 at Bed Bath & Beyond)

MAC Retro Matte Collection Haul

It just so happens that the day this collection launched at the counters and stores, we were having a team building event at work, so I got a chance to run to the counter and purchase two of the lipsticks.  I was unsure if they were limited edition or permanent at the time, so I wanted to get the two that I wanted just in case they did sell out.

There were eight lipsticks and eight pro longwear liners.  I only purchased (well not really purchased, because I Back to Mac for them) two of the lipsticks, Fixed on Drama and All Fired Up.  I didn't purchase any of the liners, but I have More to Love.  I have been in love with the Retro Matte formula since I purchased Riri Woo a few months ago, actually I am currently having a love affair with Matte lipsticks in general.

These lipsticks last a long while on the lips (for me about five hours before I have to reapply), I do apply a gloss when I feel my lips getting dry.

Here's what I got:
All Fired Up & Fixed on Drama

I was kind of disappointed with Fixed on Drama, I thought it would be more of a purple color.  I am going to try it with a purple liner and see how it comes out.

Fixed on Drama & All Fired Up

Swatches in natural light

I Compared the lipsticks to others that I thought were similar in my collection.  As you can see I don't really own anything similar to Fixed on Drama.

Fixed on Drama, Wet N Wild 916D, WNW Fergie Ferguson Crest Cabernet, Revlon VaVa Violet & Milani Sangria

All Fired up and Urban Decay's Catfight look very similar, the only difference is the finish in my opinion.
All Fired Up, WNW Cherry Picking 965, Viva Glam Cyndi & Urban Decay Catfight
That 's all for now, leave a comment and let me know which lipsticks you picked up from this collection.

MAC A Tartan Tale

So I know I am kind of late with this post, but better late than never right?  I don't usually purchase that many things from MAC's Holiday collection, because I have noticed that by February or March of the following year most of the palettes, brush sets and mini sets are at the CCO.  So my attitude is why pay full price when I can get it a little cheaper from the outlet.

With that being said, I only purchased two of the eyeshadows.  I picked up Glamora Castle and Golden Crown.  I was only going to purchase Glamora Castle, but when I went back to Macy's I picked up Golden Crown.  They both swatch sheer, as I am sure you all know by now.  I can't say that they will be sheer when applied to the eye.

So that's my Tartan Tale shopping trip.  Leave a comment and let me know if you purchased anything from MAC's Holiday collection.

Natural Flare FOTD

Isn't everyone happy that the weekend is almost here?  So this is the look I did last weekend when I went to the CCO.  I used MAC's Natural Flare Mineralize eyeshadow.  Once again, I looked through the items that I owned and went with what has been neglected.

I love Natural Flare, it is definitely a great set of shadows for the Fall season.  A deep brown and three different tones of gold, very Fall.

Face
Clinique Almost Powder makeup in deep golden
MAC Studio Finish concealer NC50
Rock & Republic All Nighter blush

Eyes
UDPP
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Orange
MAC Natural Flare Mineralize eyeshadow (Darkest gold color on the lid and lower lash line, brown in the crease and outer corner and second gold color above the crease)

So that's all for now folks, I hope you enjoyed my latest face of the day.  Until next time...

CCO and Target Shopping

On Saturday my friend, little sister and I headed out to the outlet. Whenever we go to the outlet naturally I have to hit up the Cosmetics Company Store.  It's bad because when I go with the hubby and kids, and I say "I have to go to my favorite store," my kids know what I'm talking about, lol.  Sad but true.

The last time I was there I was eyeing Indianwood paint pot, but I didn't get it.  This time around I picked it up and one of MAC's famous Matte2 eyeshadows in flourishing.

Indianwood is a nice shimmery gold color, which you can stilll find at counters or MAC stores, but $11.75 beats $16.50 any day.  Flourishing is a dark green and just from swatching it I can tell it is better than the regular Matte shadows.

In one of the clearance baskets at Target I found a Revlon quad that I have never seen before.  It came in a package with an eyeliner and it says Rich Berries on it.  I love, love, love the colors in this quad and I can't wait to use it.  I paid $4.48 for it.  There was a neutral quad and liner in there as well, but I decided to pass since I own a ton of neutral colors.

Indianwood, Flourishing, Berry Bloom Quad, Blackberry liner

Same as above without flash

I swatched the quad from bottom to top.  The colors are perfect for fall, I'm happy that I found it.  They had other Matte2 eyeshadows, though I can not remember the names.  Can anyone recommend any other colors that I should purchase?  Hopefully I can post a look with the Berry Bloom quad soon.  Until next time...

She Who Dares FOTD

Saturday night we went to pick the kiddies up from my mom's and I decided to spice my makeup up a little.  Keeping with the theme of loving what I have, I used She Who Dares mes and Wet n Wild's Envy single shadow.

I have to say that I love how this came out, even though I was kind of scared to actually wear it outside.  Yeah, I know that I am completely boring, but what can I say.

I used MAC's Pearlglide pencil in Blackline as a base for this look along with my Urban Decay primer potion. Blending the mineralize eyeshadow was just a mess.  There was glitter everywhere, this one is nothing like My Dark Magic, which I had no problems with fall out.  Even though it's a glittery mess, I still love She Who Dares :)

I would love any feedback on this look.  Let me know what you think and if you own She Who Dares, tell me what you pair it with.  Until next time...

My Dark Magic FOTD

This is my first time using my eyeshadows from the Venomous Villains collections.  I have been on a neutral kick lately so this look is definitely out of the box.  I was going shopping with the girls, so I figured why not.

Lips
Nivea lip balm and later on MAC Nice Kitty Lipglass

I always forget to pick my lipstick/lipgloss on when I'm taking pictures, smh.  I guess because I feel the lip balm on my lips in my mind I have something on them.  Next time I will remember to put my lips products on before I take the pictures.

Do you own My Dark Magic mes?  If so, how have you been using it?

EOTD MAC Photo Realism

So I've come to the conclusion that I have way too much makeup.  Hopefully, this will stop me from buying so much or at least think long and hard before I do.

With that being said, I have decided that I'm going to try and use the things that I have been neglecting.  I don't think I touched my Photo Realism quad at all this year, smh.  I'm falling into a makeup slump for some reason and I'm trying to pull myself out of it.

I obviously don't have anything on my lips, most likely a Nivea lip balm, but that's about it.  I took this picture in the evening so forgive me if I look a little out of it.

Are there any items in your collection that you have neglected?  Leave a comment and let me know what beauty items you haven't been showing any love :)

More MAC Venomous Villains

So after the unveiling event I thought that I was finished with this collection, boy was I ever wrong. The Internet can be a very bad place sometimes. After watching Youtube videos and reading some forums, I decided to pick up a few more things.

I guess its my own fault, because I never really looked at anything else besides the mineralize eyeshadows. This time around I picked up Bite of An Apple blush, Toxic Tale lipstick and Wrong Spell lipglass. By now I know that there have been reviews everywhere so I will save you the repetition.

Bite of an Apple, Wrong Spell, Toxic Tale

Bite of an Apple, Wrong Spell, Toxic Tale (no flash)

Toxic Tale

Wrong Spell

So now I can say that I am officially done with this collection. Toxic Tale looks very scary in the tube, but I toned it down with NYX pencil in Expresso. I'm going to try it with other liners to see what I come up with. Wrong spell is unique for me, a plumy purple that is perfect for fall. Bite of an Apple shows up slightly red on me and I am happy that it's looks nothing like Marine Life. Some people where comparing them, but I'm happy to report that they look nothing alike.

So what do you think about this collection? What did you purchase? Leave a comment and let me know. Until next time...

MAC Venomous Villains Unveiling

So I finally got invited to a MAC unveiling party :) I was so excited when I received the email and even more excited when I found someone to come with me. My best friend came to the event with me and we had a pretty good time, considering that it was packed.

They had pictures where you could dress up like Cruella or the Evil Queen and take a picture. I didn't get to take any pictures of the displays because as I stated above it was very crowded. All in all I had a good time and I liked that I had the opportunity to attend one of these events.

I only picked up two things, the two things that I wanted to get anyway. I swatched the French Quarter greasepaint stick from the Dr. Facilier part of the collection and though I wanted it, it looked similar to Dirty greasepaint stick, so I passed for now at least.

She Who Dares, My Dark Magic

She Who Dares, My Dark Magic no flash

She Who Dares, My Dark Magic no flash

I just picked up the two mineralize eyeshadow duos. They are not chunky at all, very smooth to the touch. I really didn't look at any of the other products because I knew what I wanted when I walked into the store. I already own Violetta lipstick and I have enough lipglosses to last me a lifetime.

Are you looking forward to the Venomous Villains collection? What do you plan on purchasing? Until next time...

MAC Fabulous Felines Collection

I said I wasn't going to purchase ANYTHING from this collection. I stayed away from Specktra and I was doing pretty well until I started watching Youtube videos, smh. Well the good thing is, I only bought four things. Two lipglasses and two of the liquid eyeliners. Perhaps if I hold myself accountable to the world I will be less likely to buy anymore lip products. I guess that's another post for another time.

Fancy Cat, Desires & Devices, Pure Show, Jealous

Fancy Cat, Jealous, Desires & Devices, Pure Show

So after watching a few videos, I decided that there were two lip products that I couldn't live without or couldn't wait to hopefully arrive at the CCO. I told myself that I didn't own anything like these two and all the other things us makeup lovers tell ourselves to justify buying it :) Fancy Cat is so pretty and unique, it's like a grayish brown on me. I haven't tried Jealous as of yet, but from what I heard from others it would look nice layered over lipstick.

The liners are wonderful, but I heard that they are going to permanent, so if you wanted to get them there is no rush. They are long wearing and I love the two colors that I chose.

So let me know if you purchased anything from the Fabulous Felines collection, I would love to hear you bought and what you think about the collection. Until next time...

MAC Dare to Wear Lipglasses

So after all the raving going on about these lipglasses, naturally I had to pick them up. When I went to the MAC store when the collection launched, I stayed away from the lipglasses. I think I have enough lip products to last me a lifetime, so I placed myself on a "no buy," but I blew that many months ago.

I was good and only picked up two, Bold & Brash and Ban This!, the color payoff on these babies are great. They are nothing like the regular lipglasses. I'm starting to realize that most of MAC's lipglasses look the same on me, so unless it is really unique I try to stay away.

Bold & Brash, Ban This!

See how pigmented they are and they look exactly the same on the lips. My only problem with these glosses are the glitter that they leave behind. It is horrible to say the least, unless of course you like walking around looking like a disco ball.

When I wiped the swatches on my hand off with a paper towel, I got this:

Not a great picture, but you get the point. I had to use a makeup remover to get all of the glitter off. On the other hand, I only had this problem when worn alone on my lips. When I put the lipglass over a lipstick, I didn't have glitter mouth when I wiped it off. I'm guessing you are going to have to reapply this frequently if you are wearing it alone so you are not walking around with glitter lips.

All in all I have to say that these are the best lipglasses that I own, but mainly due to the color payoff. They are comparable to a liquid lipstick. I could have done without the glitter, but I still love them. I thought they would have been like MAC Dazzleglasses, which also contain glitter, but they don't leave behind as much.

Have you purchased any of the Dare to wear lipglasses, if so how do you like them? Until next time...

Naked Lime

So after I picked up MAC's Lime eye shadow, I paired it with MAC's Naked Pigment. I have to say that it is a wonderful combination. I was just playing around, so it is only on one eye, lol. I can't wait to try this out in a "real" look.

UDPP, NYX jumbo pencil in Milk, MAC Naked Pigment, MAC Lime eye shadow, Kat Von D Leather eyeshadow

I also ordered some more things from the Dare to Wear collection (shame on me). They were lip glosses, which I shouldn't be buying anyway, but I folded. So I will back with swatches of those when I receive them. Until next time...

MAC Dare to Wear

So I we went to the mall today and of course I had to stop at MAC to check out the new Dare to Wear collection. I knew for certain that I was going to get Going Bananas eyeshadow because I had six empty containers and if you are not aware, MAC has a B2M (back to MAC) program, where you can return six empty containers and receive an eyeshadow, lipstick or lipglass in regular packaging. I have read so many things about Going Bananas in the past year, so I fell into the hype. It did not disappoint me though I'm sure I could have done without it.

I looked at the collection on the internet and I was also interested in Louder Please eyeshadow, but when I swatched it in the store I didn't love it so I passed. However, Lime eyeshadow caught my eye and when I swatched it I loved it. In the store, I thought how great this eyeshadow would look paired with MAC's Naked pigment. I can't wait to try this color combination, I know it's going to look fabulous. Below are swatches of both Going Bananas and Lime. Lime is a matte and Going Bananas is a frost.
