N.Y.C. Blushable Creme Sticks

Yesterday at Rite Aid, I spotted an N.Y.C. display with the new blushable creme sticks. Lately, I've been feeling blah about makeup, but surprisingly I actually wanted to try these out.

As usual I was unprepared because I didn't have all of my coupons, except for one measley $0.50 off coupon any N.Y.C. product. There were only three blushes left and I knew if I left them they wouldn't be there tomorrow. Luckily, Rite Aid currently has bogo 50% off, so I figured why not.

Gold Radiance is a semi shimmery gold that can be used as a highlighter from someone my complexion. Bronze Radiance is a super pigmented bronze. When I swatched this color I only needed one swipe as opposed to the gold which took four to get a decent swatch. I feel in love with Bronze Radiance right after swatching it.

N.Y.C. Blushable Creme Sticks retail for $3.99 and you can find them at your local drugstore. Do you own either one of these blush sticks? Leave a comment and let me know what you think of them.

Fourth of July FOTD

I know, I know, I'm late as usual, but since it is such a simple face of the day I figured why not.  There is no red, white and blue going on here.  I did however, decide to finally break out my MAC Petals & Peacocks lipstick which matched perfectly with my dress.

MAC Bloggers' Obsessions

So I just wanted to show you guys what I got from the new Bloggers' Obsessions collection.  I only picked up two items, Hocus Pocus eyeshadow and All Of My Purple Life lipglass.  I wanted to get Jealousy Wakes eyeshadow, but as I'm sure all of you know it sold out within minutes of launching online.  I read on Twitter that they are suppose to restock the sold out items, so maybe I can get my hands on it after all.

All Of My Purple Life & Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus & All Of My Purple Life

Hocus Pocus is unlike any gray eyeshadow that I own, though I forgot to take pictures of the swatches.  It is a satin and has gold sparkles, but the gold does not overpower the shadow.  The blogger that created this shade wanted it to be flattering on all skintones, which I think it should be.  I haven't used it yet but I will definitely post the look that I come up with.

All Of My Purple Life is very nice and very opaque.  It is purple with blue shimmer.  I did a few lip swatches of my MAC lipglasses that are dark purple and I'm happy to say that I own nothing like AOMPL.

So This Season from Trend F/W '09

Wrong Spell from Venomous Villians

All Of My Purple Life

All Of My Purple Life, Wrong Spell and So This Season

I can't wait to use both of this products, as you can see AOMPL is a unique purple color.  I'm glad I was able to get both products.  Did you get anything from the Bloggers' Obsessions Collection?  I would love to hear what you bought.

MAC Surf Baby Haul

So I decided to post my Surf Baby haul, I figured better late than never.

Surf The Ocean pigment stack, My Paradise, Gilded White & Sun Blonde

I must say that I am in LOVE with Sun Blonde, it is such a versatile color and like nothing that I own.  It looks good paired with greens, pink toned colors, and browns.

My paradise, clearly the star of the collection, at least in my opinion.  I must say that I love that the gold overspray doesn't disappear so fast this time around.  The blush leans kind of coral-orange on my skin tone.  I think it is a lot better than last year's Marine Life.

Gilded White is the one product that I am unhappy with.  It doesn't stay on the water line at all and it makes my eyes look sick with placed on the lower lash line.  I haven't tried it on the inner corners of my eyes yet, so perhaps it won't be a complete waste.

Surf the Ocean pigment stack was the item I was most skeptical about. I love the idea of pigments, but I never ever use them.  The bluish-green color reminded me of Deep Blue Green pigment which I hardly ever touch, but the bronze color looked amazing.  So when I saw it back in stock online I purchased it against my better judgment.  I am happy to say that I really like this stack, especially the bronze color.  I had little to no fall out and I love how metallic-y the colors look.

So that's all for now.  Leave a comment and let me know what you purchased from the MAC Surf Baby Collection.

MAC Sun Blonde EOTD

I did this look this past Saturday for work.  I was feeling out of my comfort zone and decided to use a little bit of color.  I picked up Sun Blonde from MAC's  Surf Baby, perhaps I will do a haul post, even though I'm sure there are plenty of them out there.

UDPP
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
MAC Sun Blonde on lid
UD Heat eyeshadow in crease and blended up
MAC Bough Grey (Liberty of London Collection) in outer corner
Revlon Teal liner lower lash line
UD Flipside to set Revlon liner

Well, I hope that you enjoyed this eye of the day.  Let me know what you think and thanks for reading.

M.I.A.

Hey all, I'm actually surprised that I still have any subscribers at all.  I'm the type of person who HATES people that have a blog and rarely update it.  Sadly, I have become what I hate, but with good reason.

I guess as most bloggers know, blogging is hard work because we all have a life outside of our blog.  I don't even remember the last time I posted so I can't even say how many months it has been.  My life has changed in so many ways in the past five months.  Between finally finishing school, getting my two little ones to school everyday and working part time I really had no time to blog like I initially did.

To top it all off, we found out that we were expecting in January, and the morning sickness kicked my butt big time this time around.   The smell of lipstick or gloss was completely repulsive and for some reason my lips started to chap, so I started to use Carmex.  Needless to say I will NEVER EVER touch that stuff again.  It made me sick about halfway through the tube and the actual sight of it in the store made me want to puke.  I definitely was going to take any pics, even if I could because I looked a hot mess.  I'm elated that that has all passed though.  I'm not sure how often I will/can post, but I will definitely try, because I truly love my blog, it gives my an escape from the real world I guess you could say.

I have a few face/eyes of the day that I took pics of, but never got around to posting, so I will start with that and see where it goes.  Life is definitely going to get a lot busier for me in the months to come, but I will try to stay on top of blogging.   Hope everyone is well :)

Lush Bearded Lady Bubble Bar

Life has been hectic these past few weeks which is the reason for my lack of posts.  I have been taking a lot of baths which I tend to do in the winter, so I will be doing a few posts on my favorite bubble bars, bath ballistics and soaps from Lush.

Lush states "She has moisturizing oat milk, fresh avocados and bananas, as well as jojoba and almond oils to soften your skin.  Sharing a bath with her will leave you surprisingly smooth."

A bath with the bearded lady is wonderful.  My skin is moisturized and smooth.  The water has a milky color to it and this bubble bar produces a decent amount of bubbles considering that I only used a third of it.

The little chunks that you see above in the "beard" are suppose to be chunks of Lush's King of Skin body butter.  I have to say that this is in my top five favorite Lush products.  There is definitely no need to apply any type of lotion after taking a nice long bath with the bearded lady.

Unfortunately this product was only available during the Christmas holiday so you will not be able to find them in a Lush store unless you are lucky.  Thankfully, I stocked up on these when they became available online again.

Have you tried the Bearded Lady bubble bar from Lush?  Leave a comment and let me know what you think about it.

Night Elf EOTD

So I finally got around to using my Wet n Wild Night Elf palette after many months.  I think I'm out of the eyeshadow rut that I was in, so hopefully I can start posting more eye and face of the day.

Night Elf was definitely worth all the hype, the red is amazing and so is the club dupe.  Blending was not a problem with this palette and the colors applied smoothly.  I'm glad that I got my hands on this one.

Eyes
UDPP
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
Wet n Wild Night Elf Palette (tan color of lid, club dupe in crease, red and a little black in the outer corner)
Milani Liquif'eye eye liner in brown (upper lash line)
Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion in very black

Sorry the first photo is so blurry, I didn't realize it until after I had uploaded the photos.  Also, my camera did not pick up the crease color very well, sigh.  I really like how this all came out.  Do you own Wet n Wild's Night Elf palette?  Leave a comment and let me know.

Lush The Boog Review

So I have been going Lush crazy every since the after Christmas sale.  I wanted to do a review on The Boog bath bomb, because I love it.  Currently Lush has 50% off all Christmas items, so you still might have a chance to pick this item up if you want to try it.  The 50% off is going on from now until January 19, 2011.

The snowman is filled with colorful tablets that add some fun to your bath, though after they finish fizzing the color disappears.   Its is described by Lush as "a jolly snowman full of colorful surprises and calming herbal fragrance."   I can't really describe the scent of this, but I will tell you this, it smells amazing.  The Boog is also very moisturizing, there is no need to apply anything to your skin after bathing with this.

Did I say that I loved the smell of this, it lingered in my bathroom for a long while and on my skin for even longer.  I wish I could buy a million of these and store them away, that's how much I like them :)

I couldn't take a good picture of my own boog because I already cut them all in half.  You can check out amarixe.com as she has pictures of how the ballistic looks in the actual water along with a review here.

Have you tried Lush's The Boog bath bomb?  Leave a comment and let me know what you think of it.

CVS Clearance

So I stopped at CVS a few more times and picked up some of the beauty items that are on clearance.

I got L'Oreal HIP duos in Sassy, Flashy and Cheeky.  Milani Jewel FX Gems, this was not on sale, I picked up the last one on the display.  Physician's Formula Organic Wear Highlighter, Face Powder and Bronzer, Sally Hansen Diamond 12 hour lip treatment with liner in Engaging and Gem and last but not least Physician's Formula shimmer strips for hazel eyes.

I used the HIP duo in Sassy and I love, love love it.  I'm wondering why I never picked it up, but I'm happy that I have it now.  I have also been using the Physician's Formula organic wear powder as a setting powder with my foundation.  It has been working well for me so far.

Have you purchased anything from the CVS beauty sale, leave a comment and let me know.

Lush Haul

All my Lush goodies :)

So I shop at Lush here and there, I've never thought they ran any specials because I rarely hear anything about them.  When I heard about their after Christmas bogo free I initially thought it was an online thing only so I bought three things and I received three for free.

While shopping for my daughter's b-day party this pass Tuesday, I passed by a Lush store and saw a sign in the window for bogo free.  So after I finished my party shopping I headed over to the shop.  I was very disappointed because like I stated above, I thought this sale was online only.  I paid $6.00 for shipping, which I could have used to purchase more bath goodies.

I only walked out of the store with two of The Boog bath bombs.  I will do a review on this this week, because I LOVE it.  After looking at various Youtube videos, I decided that I needed to return to the store to pick up a few more things, because again I didn't really understand the sale.  I didn't even know that the soaps were a part of the sale.

Needless to say, the above picture is what I ended up with, smh, I have a new addiction.  For me Fall and Winter are the times to take baths.  I rarely take showers in the winter for whatever reason.  So I'm happy that I was able to pick up some bath items at pretty good prices.

Here's what I purchased:
4 The Boog bath bombs
2 Cinder bath bombs
2 Li'l Lush Pud bath bombs
2 Satsumo Santa bath bombs
3 Bearded Lady bubble bars
3 Gingerbread House bubble bars
1 Gold Star bubble bar(I don't remember ordering this but it came in my package)
A chunk of Angel's Delight Soap
A chunk of Snowcake Soap (I love this one)
A chunk of Snow Globe Soap
2 Have a Sweet Christmas boxed gifts(comes with Candy Cane bubble bar and Godmother Soap)

I'm pretty happy with everything that I purchased, even though something in my wants to go back for more, smh.  I can't wait for this year's end of Christmas sale, lol.  The sale is going on until January 16.

Did you purchase anything from Lush's after Christmas sale?  Leave a comment and let my know.

Simple FOTD

I did this look on Friday.  It was going to snow, so I decided to opt for something quick and simple.  I bought the MUFE Mat Velvet + foundation, so that's what I have been using on my face.  So far so good, but I will do a full review in a couple of weeks.

Face
MUFE Mat Velvet + 70
Rock & Republic All Nighter Blush
Physicians Formula Organic Wear Powder (It's a highlighter, bronzer, and face powder, I used it as a setting powder)
UD Deslick Oil Control Setting Spray
Eyes
UD Crash 24/7 eye liner
Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Very Black

Lips
EOS Summer Fruit lip balm
MAC Viva Glam Cyndi

So that's my very simple face of the day, I hope you enjoyed :)

NOTD Revlon Perplex

So I needed to give Seche Vite another try after my last nail of the day. I did not use Perplex as of yet, so I figured now was a good time to break it out.

This time I passed on a base coat and just used two coats of Perplex and then Seche Vite as the top coat. I must say that Perplex applies very smooth, which I really did not expect. Thumbs up to Revlon for a great color that applies wonderful and is very affordable.

I photographed my manicure three days in, and while there was some tip wear I didn't experience any chipping until about day six. This is pretty good for me considering that my manicures usually last two days top. So while I'm not completely sold on Seche Vite as of yet, it works okay for the moment.

NOTD Wet n Wild Blitzen & Shield

I haven't painted my nails in awhile, so on Saturday I decided to use Wet n Wild Shield along with Blitzen.  I figured that this would also be the perfect time to try out my Seche Vite top coat.  I have to say that I was very disappointed in how long my manicure lasted, which is usually the case.

I don't usually use a base coat on my nails, but this time I used my Sally Hansen maximum growth clear polish which was probably a big mistake.  By Sunday my nails looked horrible, chipped polish on practically every nail, smh.  I was very upset because I heard such good things about Seche Vite, however I'm going to try it again without the Sally Hansen polish and see how it works out.  I'm positive this top coat isn't receiving such high praise for no reason.

So here's my nails soon after polishing them.
Hopefully my next nail of the day won't be a big flop like this one was.  Do you own any of these Wet n Wild nail polishes?

CVS Beauty Clearance

Nude Lustre, Mauve

Nude Lustre, Mauve

I'm sure you all are well aware that CVS is having their semi annual beauty sale. I first heard about the current sale from Gianna over at nouveaucheap.blogspot.com. Definitely check out her blog because she keeps an updated list of all the products that are on sale.

I only picked up two things because nothing was marked in the CVS that I stopped at and I got tired of running back and forth to the price check machine. Revlon nude lustre lip gloss and Revlon colorburst lipstick in mauve.

The lipstick was $2.49 and the gloss was $2.25. Nude lustre is my current favorite neutral gloss, so I picked up a back up. Have you purchased anything from CVS's beauty sale?

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

So I thought for the New Year I would do another post on my favorite things.  I haven't been wearing much eyeshadow, but I have been loving blushes and trying to use up some of my ridiculous stash of lip products.  So if you see repetitiveness in my fotd's that's the reason why.

I'm going to start with the pink cosmetic bag, which I received from Clinique as a part of a GWP.  I love this bag, I can fit about three lip products, a travel size brush and a Nars blush inside this bag.  This bag is ALWAYS in one of my purses.

  • Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in my mahogany, this is my favorite nude lipstick and my very first maybelline lipstick.  I really like the Color Sensational lipsticks they are very good quality.
  • Covergirl lash blast fusion in very black, I have fallen back in love with this mascara, plus I need to use it before I have to throw it out.  When I'm in a rush in the morning, I know that this mascara will give me the length and volume that I need.
  •  Urban Decay 24/7 eye liner in zero, the perfect black eye liner that doesn't smudge or fade, what more can a girl ask for in a black eye liner.
  •  Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss in Nude Lustre, this gloss paired with my mahogany is pure love for me.  I love the combination
  • MAC Viva Glam VI, nice nude pink lip gloss, I especially love the gold shimmer in it.
  • L'Oreal HIP Shine Struck Liquid Lipcolor in Harmless, nice everyday gloss, brown with gold shimmer.  I also love the smell of these glosses, sometimes I just open the tube to smell it, lol.
  • ELF Translucent Matifying Powder(review coming soon), usually in the winter my skin is dry, but this winter it has stayed oily.  I picked this up at Target, unsure of whether it would work or not, and I have to say that this product is very good.  I use it pretty much everyday on my nose, which is super oily.
  • Nars Luster blush, love, love, love this blush.  I reach for it daily.  It gives my skin the perfect glow.
  • L'Oreal HIP Duo in Saucy, this is my favorite HIP duo.  If I'm running low on time and I want to wear eyeshadow, I can't go wrong with this.
  • Revlon Beyond Natural Concealer medium deep 330, this concealer is perfect for hiding my blemishes.  It is creamy and blends very well, I haven't used the highlighter as of yet.
  • MAC Sunny by Nature msf, I bought this in the summer time and used it a few times.  Lately I have been using it over Nars luster or Dolce Vita blushes.  It gives a nice glow and its matte unlike the other msf's that I own.
  • MAC Bite of an Apple blush, a little goes a long way with this coral blush.  When I want to add some color to my cheeks this is the first blush that I pick up.

Hope you enjoyed this edition of These are a few of my favorite things.  Are any of these products on your favorites list?

New Year's Eve FOTD

I am extremely late with this post, but I was exhausted Friday night.  I hope that everyone is having a wonderful start to this new year.

On New Year's Eve, I went to dinner with four fabulous ladies, well three being that my little sister is only twelve, lol.  My mom, aunt, cousin, sis and I went to an Asian restaurant called Jade and we had an amazing time.

I decided to keep my makeup simple, because I was running low on time and I hadn't really decided on a makeup look beforehand. So I just popped on some gold liner on my upper lash line and black on the lower and I was ready to go.

Excuse my brows, they desperately need to be threaded.
Face
Clinique almost powder compact makeup deep golden
Revlon Beyond Natural concealer medium deep
Nars Luster blush
MAC Sunny by Nature msf
Eyes
MAC Pure Show superlick liquid eyeliner
Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil in zero
Covergirl Lash blast fusion very black

Lips
EOS lip balm summer fruit
Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in my mahogany
Revlon super lustrous lip gloss in nude lustre

How was your New Year's Eve?  I would also like feedback on what kind of posts you would like to see.  I'm trying to cut back on my makeup purchases, and I'm pretty much at a lost of what to write about.  If you want me to write about something particular please leave a comment letting me know.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and prosperous new year :)
