CVS L'Oreal Clearance

So as I'm sure you all know by now, CVS has some L'Oreal HIP items clearanced for 75% off.  I picked up two pigments and one shine struck liquid lipcolor.

Fiery, Euphoric, Restless

The pigments were $3.49 each and the gloss was $3.57.  After coupons and extrabucks I ended up paying $6.49, not bad considering that the original retail of the pigments are $13.99 and the gloss $14.29.

I actually like these particular glosses, even though the smell is kind of overwhelming.  They last about three hours on the lips and the color pigmentation is excellent. Restless kind of reminds me of MAC Vanilla pigment, but I haven't swatched them yet so I am not completely sure.

Did you pick up any of the clearanced L'Oreal products? Leave a comment and let me know what you bought.

Maybelline Natural Smokes FOTD Take Two

As I stated in my last post I did two looks with my Maybelline Natural Smokes quad.

I used pretty much the same items and placement as the last post, except I used Nars Dolce Vita on my cheeks and MAC Brave New Bronze lipstick, MAC Cork lip liner and Revlon Peach Petal lipgloss on my lips. I also have Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion on my top and bottom lashes.

I love Dolce Vita blush, it's a nice rosy color that I can wear everyday.

Maybelline Natural Smokes FOTD

I must say that out of the four Maybelline Stylish Smokes quad the natural is by far my favorite.  As you all know, I am in love with neutrals colors for the moment.  Also, like most other palettes, it is nice to have all the colors that you need in one place.

I used this palette twice last week, so I will post two separate face of the days.

Face
Clinique Almost Powder Compact Makeup in deep golden
MAC Studio Finish Concealer NC50
MUFE HD blush #9
MAC Bite of an Apple blush

Eyes
UDPP
MAC Soft Ochre paint pot
Maybelline Natural Smokes quad(I used each shadow as it was labeled, except for the highlight.  I also used the outer corner color on my lower lashline.)

*I don't remember what I put on my lips this day*

This is my first time using the MUFE HD blush and I must say that I really do not like it.  I received it as the 100 point perk at Sephora.  Perhaps I used too much, but to me it seemed to sit on top of my skin, that's why I put Bite of an Apple over it.  I blended it with my fingers and with a brush and I still did not like the outcome.  That's all for now, let me know what you think.

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

So I'm not really into monthly favorites.  Most times there are only a few items, like my face powder or concealer that I use throughout the whole month.  I saw a post on a blog that I read where the author did a post on the products that she was currently loving.  I think that this is a great idea.

I don't have to post monthly favorites or pretend for that matter that I actually use the same products in a thirty day period.  I can post my current favorites whenever I want to and that's what I love about this.

So this will be my first favorites post.  Just a few products that I am currently in love with or that I find myself reaching for more than others.

1. EOS Lip Balm in Summer Fruit
I love this stuff, especially at night.  It smells delightful and it moisturizes my lips perfectly.

2. MAC Indianwood paint pot
I have been loving this since I purchased it from the CCO.  I love this on the lid with Galapagos in the crease.

3. Barbie Loves Stila 1980 Foxy Doll
The palette is really nice, but what I'm loving is the blush. I'm not a blush girl, but I find myself reaching for this one a whole lot.

4. Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush
Love, love, love this brush.  I love it for blending eyeshadow and for blending out my concealer on my face.  I think I might purchase another one :)

5. Nars Galapagos Eyeshadow
Again, I love this in the crease with Indianwood paint pot.

6.Urban Decay Naked Palette
What can I say about this palette, it's great and everyone knows that.  I have to stop myself for reaching for this sometimes because I could use it everyday and not even mind.

7.Clinique Almost Powder Compact Makeup in Deep Golden
This was my first face powder ever so I have nothing else to compare it to.  I use Clinique products for cleansing my face, so naturally when I was looking for a face powder I went straight to Clinique.  Plus I heard that some MAC foundations break people out and I didn't want to take that chance.

So there you have it, my very first favorites post.  Hopefully there will more to come.

Wet n Wild Golden Goddess FOTD

So I was inspired by acomplicatedmelody on Youtube for this face of the day.  I have been feeling blah these last few weeks, so I have been doing a really simple look, which I will post very soon.

Though the palette comes with six colors, I had no idea how I was going to put them together.  I never would have thought to use MAC's Coral Crepe paint pot if not for the video.  It really helps to bring out that coral-ish color on the top.

Clinique almost powder makeup in deep golden
MAC Studio Finish Concealer NC50
NYX Spice blush

Eyes
UDPP
MAC Coral Crepe paint pot
Wet n Wild Golden Goddess (same colors used in video minus the highlight color)
Revlon Grow Luscious in Black

Lips
MAC Strawberry Blonde lipglass

I'm glad I ended up picking up this palette because I was going to pass on it.  My only problem is that it is kind of a glitter bomb, especially the second color on the top, which  I used on my lid. I had a lot of fallout under my eyes, besides that it was worth the $4.99.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway.  You could be the winner of either the Night Elf or Snow Sprite palette.  You have until December 5, 2010, 11:59pm est.

MAC A Tartan Tale

So I know I am kind of late with this post, but better late than never right?  I don't usually purchase that many things from MAC's Holiday collection, because I have noticed that by February or March of the following year most of the palettes, brush sets and mini sets are at the CCO.  So my attitude is why pay full price when I can get it a little cheaper from the outlet.

With that being said, I only purchased two of the eyeshadows.  I picked up Glamora Castle and Golden Crown.  I was only going to purchase Glamora Castle, but when I went back to Macy's I picked up Golden Crown.  They both swatch sheer, as I am sure you all know by now.  I can't say that they will be sheer when applied to the eye.

So that's my Tartan Tale shopping trip.  Leave a comment and let me know if you purchased anything from MAC's Holiday collection.

Wet n Wild Holiday Golden Goddess Palette with Swatches

So initially I passed on the Golden Goddess palette from the Wet n Wild holiday collection, but seriously who was I kidding.  I knew I was going to buy it, I just had to.  So now I own all four of the of the palettes and my collection feels complete.

Golden Goddess Palette

Swatches without flash

The colors in this palette are really pretty and this palette seems to have the best color pigmentation out of the four.  On Sunday I will post the giveaway for two of the palettes from the collection, so look out for that.

Hey all.  So I couldn't wait to use my new Wet n Wild Pixie palettes.  I used the Sugar Plum Fairy palette last night when I was headed out for a Girl's Night Out.  I really like the outcome and I can't wait to use the other palettes.

I labeled the picture below so that you can see which colors I used and where I placed them on my eyes.  Sorry that the wording is so small.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Pixie Holiday Palettes Finally!!!

I'm not even going to tell you how many Walgreen's I have been to searching for these palettes.  Looking on every end cap, every shelf, it was ridiculous.  The funny thing is I found them at Pathmark,  yes, Pathmark the supermarket.  I was super excited when I found them, because I had been to three different Walgreen's that particular day.  Smh, the life of a beauty addict.

So out of the four palettes, I picked up Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Sprite and Night Elf.  I did not get Golden Goddess because I feel like I already own similar colors.  I have not used these palettes yet, but stay tuned for some face of the days featuring the Wet n Wild holiday palettes.

 Sugar Plum Fairy

 Snow Sprite

 Night Elf

MAC Club, WnW Night Elf

All swatches were done without any base and the photos of the swatches were taken without any flash.  As you can see above the color in the Night Elf palette is very similar to MAC's Club.

I'm happy that I finally find these palettes.  It's nice when you can get good quality makeup for amazing prices.  Stay tuned because I will be doing my very first giveaway, that's how happy I was to find these palettes, lol.  So two lucky subscribers will win either the Snow Sprite palette or the Night Elf palette.  I will be posting the giveaway and the rules soon.

Natural Flare FOTD

Isn't everyone happy that the weekend is almost here?  So this is the look I did last weekend when I went to the CCO.  I used MAC's Natural Flare Mineralize eyeshadow.  Once again, I looked through the items that I owned and went with what has been neglected.

I love Natural Flare, it is definitely a great set of shadows for the Fall season.  A deep brown and three different tones of gold, very Fall.

Face
Clinique Almost Powder makeup in deep golden

Rock & Republic All Nighter blush

Eyes
UDPP
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Orange

CCO and Target Shopping

On Saturday my friend, little sister and I headed out to the outlet. Whenever we go to the outlet naturally I have to hit up the Cosmetics Company Store.  It's bad because when I go with the hubby and kids, and I say "I have to go to my favorite store," my kids know what I'm talking about, lol.  Sad but true.

The last time I was there I was eyeing Indianwood paint pot, but I didn't get it.  This time around I picked it up and one of MAC's famous Matte2 eyeshadows in flourishing.

Indianwood is a nice shimmery gold color, which you can stilll find at counters or MAC stores, but $11.75 beats $16.50 any day.  Flourishing is a dark green and just from swatching it I can tell it is better than the regular Matte shadows.

In one of the clearance baskets at Target I found a Revlon quad that I have never seen before.  It came in a package with an eyeliner and it says Rich Berries on it.  I love, love, love the colors in this quad and I can't wait to use it.  I paid $4.48 for it.  There was a neutral quad and liner in there as well, but I decided to pass since I own a ton of neutral colors.

Indianwood, Flourishing, Berry Bloom Quad, Blackberry liner

Same as above without flash

I swatched the quad from bottom to top.  The colors are perfect for fall, I'm happy that I found it.  They had other Matte2 eyeshadows, though I can not remember the names.  Can anyone recommend any other colors that I should purchase?  Hopefully I can post a look with the Berry Bloom quad soon.  Until next time...

Sephora Friends & Family

About a week or so ago Sephora had a friends and family sale where you could get 20% off of any item online.  I ordered  three Nars items, one of which I ended up returning.  I bought Galapagos eyeshadow, Melusine eyeshadow duo (returned item) and Dolce Vita blush.

I really did like the Melusine duo, but it reminded me of L'Oreal HIP's Electrified duo, so that is why I returned it.  Galapagos is a pretty brown with gold glitter.  Dolce Vita is buildable pink with a subtle shimmer.

From top to bottom, Galapagos, Dolce Vita

So that's what I purchased during the F&F sale at Sephora.  I would love to hear what you purchased?

Emerald Smokes FOTD

Hey all, I'm back with another face of the day.  I did this face of the day back in September for my cousin's baby shower and I forgot to post it.  I have a very bad cold, so I doubt you will be seeing any new face of the days.

For the baby shower I decided to use my Maybelline Stylish Smokes quad in Emerald Smokes.  I had it for a long while and never touched it.  I love greens, but for some reason I buy them and never use them.

That's it for this fotd. I have another one that I did this past Saturday when I went to the outlet.  I'm also going to post my small CCO and target shopping trip, so stay tuned for that.
