N.Y.C. Blushable Creme Sticks

Last week Rite Aid was having a great sale on cosmetics. All N.Y.C. products were bogo free, so I picked up two of the blushable creme sticks. I am slowly, but surely adding to my blush collection. These cost $3.99 each, so I got them both for about $2.00 each.

I bought Berry New Yorker and Big Apple Blush (I love the names of these). In the store I was rushing and these two kind of looked similar, as you will see in my swatches.

I wore Berry New Yorker the other day and it gave me dark pink flush and it lasted for about five hours, which is good considering that my skin is still a little oily. I think that Berry New Yorker would be a great base for R&R's Seduce blush.

These are a pretty good for the price and from what I saw at Rite Aid they come in a good range of colors. The color pigmentation is very good and so is the staying power. Have you purchased any of the N.Y.C. Blushable Creme Sticks, if so leave a comment and let me know how you like them.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipglosses

So as I stated in this post CVS was having a great deal or good deal depending on if you had coupons or not. This time around, however, I did pick up the right item. I already own a few of the super lustrous glosses and I like them very much. The ones that I own have great pigmentation and are comparable and possibly even better than MAC's lipglasses. More importantly, the price is great, but even better when there is a sale going on.

I picked up Peach Petal and Nude Lustre because I heard some good things about both of them. Peach Petal is a great nude light peach and Nude Lustre is a light coral.

I paired Nude Lustre with Revlon's Just Enough Buff and I loved it. It's the perfect nude lip for me. I haven't used Peach Petal yet because I am unsure about what to pair it with. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and let me know what you think about Revlon's Super Lustrous lipglosses :)

Rock & Republic Lipgloss

Hey my dears. About two weeks ago I purchased two of the Rock & Republic lipglosses. Mistress is a dark pink and Train Wreck is a brown with gold shimmer (I love the names). I had a $25.00 credit and I was able to use the code that they had posted on their site. While on Twitter the next day there was a lot of controversy about R&R not accepting orders and things of that nature. Fortunately my order was accepted and I ended up paying two dollars and change for two glosses including shipping (happy dance).

MAC Viva Glam VI, R&R Mistress, Train Wreck (no flash)

Viva Glam VI, Mistress, Train Wreck

The lipglosses smell like vanilla and they are not sticky at all. Both have good color payoff, but Mistress is more pigmented. When I took Mistress out of the box I thought it looked like Viva Glam VI, Mistress is a tad bit darker, but on my lips they pretty much look the same.

Rock & Republic lipglosses retail for $26.00 and you can purchase them at rockandrepublic.com Have you purchased any of Rock & Republic's lipglosses, if so leave a comment letting me know which one? Until next time...

Orly Galaxy Girl Nail of the Day

I saw this nailpolish in CVS about a month ago and I had to have it. When I went back the other day there was only one in the display so I figured why not. I'm slowly turning into a nailpolish addict, smh. Where does it end?

I'm not sure if this is a dupe for MAC's Formidable, which is being released with the Venomous Villains collection on September 30, but it looks mighty close.

I used two coats of Galaxy Girl and then I used N.Y.C. In a New York Color Minute topcoat. I don't know if I said this before, but I hate polishing my own nails. Surprisingly I didn't have a problem with this polish, no streaking and even coverage. This is my first Orly polish and I must say that I love it. Orly nailpolish retails for $6.99 at CVS, I'm not sure is any of the other drugstores carry this brand.

Revlon Multi Use Palette

As I stated in my last post, I had to hunt down the multi use palette from Revlon's Suede Rhapsody collection. When I found it I was so ecstatic I almost did a happy dance right there in Rite Aid :)

I had seen it a few days before in Duane Reade and I wanted to get it, but I didn't. When I went back to that same Duane Reade it was gone. If you are familiar with Manhattan then you know that there is a Duane Reade pretty much on every other block. Needless to say Duane Reade didn't have it.

So here it was what I went out of my mind trying to find.

The palette is labeled so you know exactly where to use each part. I was kind of scared of the lipstick, but it is the perfect red for my complexion. It has a matte finish, but when I wore it out I put MAC's Bold and Brash gloss over it and I loved how it turned out.

I like that the lip part can be pulled out on the side and that it comes with a lip brush. The brush was a good idea, but it just doesn't work for me. It took about five or six dips with the brush to get what you see above. I don't own a lip brush so the brush that it comes with or my fingers, which I didn't want to use, will have to do for now. I can not wait to use the cream shadows.

The multi use palette retails for $6.99, which is good considering that you receive a lipstick, highlight, blush and two cream eyeshadows. Leave a comment and let me know if you own the multi use palette and how you like it.

Wet n Wild Festive Flirt Nail Kit

Just wanted to share something that I spotted at CVS tonight. I have never seen any Wet n Wild products at CVS, with the exception of this nailpolish set and the traincases. This set retails for $4.99 and it comes with eight nailpolishes. I think I might pick up the one on the left, it has a cute purple polish with glitter in it.

The finally have the Revlon Suede Rhapsody, which you can see a little bit of on the bottom. I picked up the multi-use palette last week from Rite Aid after I searched about six Duane Reade's for it. I had to have it :)

Have you seen these nailpolishes at any of the drugstores, if so let me know? Until next time...

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

So CVS is having a sale on Revlon lip products this week, you pay $6.99 and you get $5.00 in extrabucks. However, the lipstick that I'm about to show you is not a part of said deal, though because there were signs by these lipsticks the cashier printed the extrabucks for me. Yay for great customer service.

I had two of the $2.00 facebook Revlon coupons and a coupon for $3.00 off any Revlon cosmetics from the CVS coupon machine. I ended up paying $4.24 for both lipsticks and I received my $10.00 in extrabucks. The super lustrous lipglosses are a part of the deal, so now would be a great time to buy them.

I must say that I do love these lipsticks, I purchased two of them before, one of them being Berry Haute which I love. So I purchased Peach Me, which is a peach, lol and Just Enough Buff, which is a nude light pink.

Peach Me, Just Enough Buff (taking with flash)

Just Enough Buff, Peach Me

I must say that I love Peach Me. It is the perfect peach lipstick for me. I have been wearing it with MAC's Richer, Lusher Cremesheen Glass. I actually hated Richer, Lusher it has no color payoff at all, but paired with Peach Me, it is pure love.

What do you think of Revlon's Super Lustrous lipsticks? Did you purchase any of the Revlon lip products that are on sale this week at CVS?

MAC Venomous Villains Unveiling

So I finally got invited to a MAC unveiling party :) I was so excited when I received the email and even more excited when I found someone to come with me. My best friend came to the event with me and we had a pretty good time, considering that it was packed.

They had pictures where you could dress up like Cruella or the Evil Queen and take a picture. I didn't get to take any pictures of the displays because as I stated above it was very crowded. All in all I had a good time and I liked that I had the opportunity to attend one of these events.

I only picked up two things, the two things that I wanted to get anyway. I swatched the French Quarter greasepaint stick from the Dr. Facilier part of the collection and though I wanted it, it looked similar to Dirty greasepaint stick, so I passed for now at least.

She Who Dares, My Dark Magic

She Who Dares, My Dark Magic no flash

She Who Dares, My Dark Magic no flash

I just picked up the two mineralize eyeshadow duos. They are not chunky at all, very smooth to the touch. I really didn't look at any of the other products because I knew what I wanted when I walked into the store. I already own Violetta lipstick and I have enough lipglosses to last me a lifetime.

Are you looking forward to the Venomous Villains collection? What do you plan on purchasing? Until next time...

MAC Fabulous Felines Collection

I said I wasn't going to purchase ANYTHING from this collection. I stayed away from Specktra and I was doing pretty well until I started watching Youtube videos, smh. Well the good thing is, I only bought four things. Two lipglasses and two of the liquid eyeliners. Perhaps if I hold myself accountable to the world I will be less likely to buy anymore lip products. I guess that's another post for another time.

Fancy Cat, Desires & Devices, Pure Show, Jealous

Fancy Cat, Jealous, Desires & Devices, Pure Show

So after watching a few videos, I decided that there were two lip products that I couldn't live without or couldn't wait to hopefully arrive at the CCO. I told myself that I didn't own anything like these two and all the other things us makeup lovers tell ourselves to justify buying it :) Fancy Cat is so pretty and unique, it's like a grayish brown on me. I haven't tried Jealous as of yet, but from what I heard from others it would look nice layered over lipstick.

The liners are wonderful, but I heard that they are going to permanent, so if you wanted to get them there is no rush. They are long wearing and I love the two colors that I chose.

So let me know if you purchased anything from the Fabulous Felines collection, I would love to hear you bought and what you think about the collection. Until next time...

Drugstore Shopping

This week Rite Aid has some pretty decent deals on makeup especially with the coupons in this past Sunday's paper. There was a $2.00 coupon for Color Sensational lipstick and RA had all Maybelline cosmetics for 40% off.

I also stopped in Duane Reade for no particular reason and I saw the N.Y.C.'s Berry Bloom display. This is my first time seeing this collection so I picked up two items.

Maybelline Color Sensation lipstick in Caramel Kiss & Wined & Dined no flash

Caramel Kiss, Wined & Dined with flash

I didn't open the N.Y.C. products yet, but I will do a review and swatches very soon. The lipgloss with the flower design is so pretty, the color is Rose Kiss. It retails for $2.99. The custom compact is in Berry Bloom, this is my second N.Y.C. palette. The palettes retail for $4.99.

I love Caramel Kiss lipstick, it is a pink nude with gold shimmer. I haven't worn Wined & Dined as of yet. I'm scared of red lipstick, so I'm trying to branch out a little. I can't wait to wear it. That is all for now. Let me know if you picked up anything from Rite Aid this week, next week is suppose to be a good week at RA as well :) Until next time...

Hautelook

A few weeks ago hautelook had an Urban Decay sale. For those of you not familiar with hautelook.com, they sell clothing, makeup and other things at discounted prices for a certain amount of time. In order to participate in the sales you have to register with the site, which takes all of two minutes.

I only own the UD liners that came in the Naked palette and the Get Baked palette. I have heard really good things about them and lately I have been into liners. This sale had the mini liners so I bought those along with Heat eyeshadow.

Zero, Crash, Gunmetal, Underground, Glitter liner

MAC Coppering, UD Heat

When I opened Heat I thought that it was similar to Coppering and I was upset until I swatched them. I happy that though they are slightly similar, they are not the same color :) I am happy with what I purchased and I loved the prices, I threw my invoice away, but I believe that with shipping I paid about $20.00. The eyeshadow alone retails for that, so it was a great deal.

Hope you enjoyed my little shopping adventure, let me know if you own any of the products that I purchased, if you do how do you like them? Until next time...

Another Naked FOTD

I really do love my Urban Decay Naked palette, you can go to one place for all the eyeshadow that you need. Best of all you can create so many different looks with it. The other day I used it to do a smokey eye.

All That Glitters

From the top Cranberry, Gazette Grey, All that Glitters, Prepped for Glamour

So once again, I am using one of my neglected eyeshadows. I believe that I bought All that Glitters at the same time that I bought Amber Lights. However, I think that I have used All that Glitters a little bit more.

When I bought Coral Crepe paintpot a few months back All that Glitters was used a little more. This eyeshadow looks great over Coral Crepe, if you don't have it definitely see if your MAC store/counter still has it available.

I used UDPP, MAC Coral Crepe p/p, All that Glitters on the lid, Cranberry in the crease and Prepped for Glamour in the outer v. I also placed All that Glitters on my lower lash line. I noticed, of course, after cropping my pictures that my blending sucks, I have to work on that. I posted them anyway, no one is perfect.

Do you have All that Glitters, if so leave a comment and let me know what colors you pair it with. Until next time...

Vanilla Firecracker EOTD

Hey all, I'm back with another eotd of the day using products that rarely get any love. I used Amber Lights again, because as I stated before, I almost never use it. It's a really pretty color especially when paired with colors like Coppering.

This time around I used MAC's Vanilla pigment which is permanent and very versatile. You can use it as a cheek highlight or as a brow highlight. I also used Firecracker eyeshadow from the To The Beach collection. This look is very simple and not too bright, which is right up my alley.

I used UDPP(as usual) Vanilla pigment in the inner corner, Amber Lights in the middle and Firecracker in the outer corner. I also used a brown eyeshadow in the crease, but I can't remember the name of it. On my lashes I have Diorshow Extase in black. I received a sample of this when I placed an order with Sephora. I love it, it makes my lashes extra long. I have heard only good things about Christian Dior mascaras, but this is my first time trying one.

I keep forgetting to put my earrings on when I take pictures. I feel like my face looks naked without them. I always put my jewelry on last and the funny thing is that I don't realize until I upload the pictures to my computer that I don't have them on. So let me know what you think about this combination. Do you own vanilla pigment or Firecracker eyeshadow, if so what colors do you pair them with? Until next time...

Rite Aid Shopping

Last week, I went to Rite Aid to pick up some Wet n Wild items which were bogo free. Since I already owned the Lust, Greed and Vanity palettes, I figured I might as well have the Pride palette as well, lol. So I picked that up along with three of the Craze nailpolishes.

The nailpolishes are colors for Fall in my opinion. I picked up Goldmine, Shield and Rustic, I haven't used them yet so I can't really comment on them. However, I did use them on the little one with no topcoat and it lasted for about three days.

I must say that the Pride palette did not disappoint me like the Greed palette did. The shadows in this palette have great color payoff. Perhaps I should have bought this one to begin with.

Pride palette matte side, shimmer side.

So that's all for right now. Let me know if you own any of the Wet n Wild Craze nailpolishes, I would love to hear what you think about them. Until next time...

Amber Lights EOTD

I decided to break out some of my eyeshadows that I rarely use and I must add that there are plenty of them. I heard so many good things about Amber Lights so last year I picked it up during MAC's friends and family sale and I think I only used it once if at all.

On Specktra.net there is a forum called "Shop your stash" and the lovely ladies over there post color combinations, so this came from over there. Amber lights and Coppering complement each other very well and Coppering is also another eyeshadow that I rarely touch.

I used UDPP, NYX jumbo pencil in milk, amber lights, coppering and NYX purple eyeshadow in that order. I didn't realize that the my eyeshadow matched my shirt until after I took the pictures, lol. I had on another shirt, but I decided to change.

Do you have Amber lights or Coppering eyeshadows, how do you pair them with other colors? Leave a comment and let me know. Until next time...

Elf Shopping

A few weeks ago I purchased some things online from eyelipsface better known as elf. There was a coupon code for half off, so that helped off set the cost of shipping for me. You can usually find coupon codes on retailmenot dot com. I go to this site when I'm shopping online for free shipping codes and other discount codes. It is a very helpful site and I love it.

I really wanted to pick up another one of the brush holders. I loves this things as I store my eyeliners, lipliners and nyx jumbo pencils in these as well as my brushes. I also wanted to try out the individual eyelashes. I don't know how to apply them, so I'm not too worried about the dollar investment.

The charcoal creme liner was pretty and I don't own anything like it, so I picked that up. I read some good things about them and I'm eager to try it out for myself. I wasn't aware that they sold blushes in the compact, so I picked up one of those as well. I have never seen these in my Target store. I'm pretty happy with everything that I purchased and you can't beat the prices either.

Until next time...

N.Y.C. Union Square Palette Review

So a few weeks ago I was watching a video on youtube and came across the N.Y.C. Individual Eyes custom compact for brown eyes also known as Union Square. You get four eyeshadows, a primer and a illuminator for only $4.99, good right?

I have to say that whoever thought of this came up with a wonderful idea. You have your eyeshadows and primer in one convenient case. It doesn't get any better than that. This is the perfect palette for traveling or for throwing in your purse just in case you need to retouch. The price is great as well.

I do have to say though, I was slightly disappointed with how the colors showed on my skin tone. The third color is pretty much the color of my skin and the second color is just a tad bit darker than the primer, so it shows up on me kind of ashy. I didn't use anything other than what was in the palette, but I'm guessing if I use a colored base I can alter the color a bit. I love the purple color, I kind of reminds me of MAC's Sketch. I will check to see how similar they are.

There are two other palettes, one for green eyes and another for blue, if I am not mistaken. One has purples and the other has greens. I passed on these because I think I have enough of both colors. I put my eyeshadow on at about seven in the morning and it lasted until six in the evening without any creasing. I'm sure it would have lasted longer, but I went to sleep with it on.

Do you own any of the N.Y.C. Individual eyes custom compacts? If so, what do you think of them? Until next time...

Barbie Loves Stila

About a month ago, I purchased two of the Barbie Loves Stila sets from the Sephora inside JcPenney for only $7.49. I couldn't pass that up it was just too good of a deal. I can't really say that this is an eye of the day, because I only did one eye.

Let me first start off by saying that I detest how I look with blue eyeshadow. I am afraid of blue on my eyes. I don't know what it is, it looks nice on others, but I don't feel that I can wear blue eyeshadow. I buy it and then I end up just looking at it.

This particular blue that comes in Barbie Loves Stila 1959 Ponytail Doll is a dark blue with silver shimmer. It also comes with a matte black and peach/goldish color blush.

I actually love this shadow, it doesn't make me look weird, which is how I feel about most blue eyeshadows. I used the black in the crease, but I didn't do a good job blending as you can see. I recently picked up MAC's Blue Flame from the CCO, I wonder if it looks anything like this shadow, I have yet to try it out.

I also used NYC liquid liner to line my upper lash line, I think I like it better than the L'Oreal HIP Creme liner. Do you own the Barbie Loves Stila 1959 Ponytail Doll set? If so how do you like it? Until next time...
